PHOTO FRAME TUTORIAL

Neha from Steps towards crafting is sharing a photo frame tutorial.

Supplies u will need...

1) Cardboard
2) Handmade sheet/ Designer sheet (lill thick will be better)
3) Scissors
4)Cutter
5) (Optional) Photograph (for size)


so....


Step1:
Take two cardboard pieces...i had made frame for 4'' by 6'' photo so i took 9'' by 11''...but u can take any size depending on ur choice...

Step2: Place the snap in centre of one of the cardboard (lets call it Piece 1)

Step 3: Trace the outline of pic and cut the window from cardboard with size lill less then the actualy tracing from all side so that photo can be holded properly when its ready

Step 4: Now place the Piece of cardboard on the designer paper and cut the sheet with size about 2'' more on all the sides then that of the Piece....

Step 5: Now trace a window and cut it out in designer sheet as shown in picture below

Step 6: Now paste the cut part inside as shown in pic below

Step 7: Now u have to paste the sheet...u can paste it along one of the length side of cardboard or along one of the width as you want to keep your photoframe...This is done in order to make the slot for putting the photo in it...

Step 8: Remember the cardboard Piece two....here comes its use now...
put the piece two on handmade sheet and cut it out such that handmade sheet is lill longer at one side of the cardboard (This side should be the same as the side u had pasted the handmade sheet of piece one...i.e either length wise or width wise...i hope u have got this point..??)

Step 9: Now put piece one on piece two as shown in pic...

Step 10: Now the last step...paste the three sides of designer paper from piece on at back of piece two...and then paste some paper at the back of piece two so that u can hide visible cardboard piece...

HOW TO DO KUNDAN FLOWERS

MATERIALS:

• KUNDAN STONES WITH HOLES(REQUIRED SIZE)
• GOLDEN STRING
• WHITE BEADS
• THREAD AND GREEN TAPE

METHOD:

• CUT THE STRING TO THE REQUIRED SIZE,INSERT THE STRING FROM THE BOTTOM HOLE FROM FRONT TO BACK,BRING THE STRING TO TOP HOLE FROM BACK TO FRONT.AGAIN BRING THE STRING TO BACK SIDE AND TWIST BOTH THE STRINGS.LIKEWISE DO ALL THE STONE AND KEEP IT.
• TAKE A STRING,INSERT THE BEAD IN THE CENTER AND TWIST BOTH THE STRING TOGETHER,THIS IS YOUR POLAND.
• THEN ARRANGE FIVE PETALS FOR EACH FLOWER AND TIE IT WITH THREAD.
• COVER THE STRING WITH GREEN TAPE,NOW YOUR FLOWER IS READY.
• TAKE A THICKER STRING,AND ARRANGE THE FLOWERS ONE BY ONE WITH THE HELP OF GREEN TAPE.
• FOR EXTRA DECORATION,I HAVE ADDED SINGLE GREEN STONES AS LEAF AND SINGLE PEARLS AS BUD.

CREATING MAPLE LEAF

HI FRIENDS,
GOT BORED OF MAKING FLOWERS ALL THE TIME?
WANT TO TRY OUT SOME THING DIFFERENT?
YA ME TOO FELT THE SAME WAY SO TRIED THIS MAPLE LEAF.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE PATTERN AND WANTED IT TRY OUT ON SOME THING.ONE DAY IS SAW THESE LEAVES IN A SHOP.THEY HAVE KEPT A VERY LARGE BUNCH OF THESE LEAVES.SO I THOUGHT WHY DON'T I TRY IT OUT AND THE OUT COME IS THIS.PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS:-)

MATERIALS:

• WHITE CHART PAPER
• FABRIC PAINTS
• CRACKLE MEDIUM
• THIN AND THICK WIRE
• BROWN TAPE
• GLUE N GLOSS

METHOD:

• CUT A MAPLE LEAF DESIGN IN A THICK CHART PAPER,THIS WILL BE YOUR TEMPLATE
• WITH THE USE OF THE TEMPLATE CUT THE NUMBER OF LEAVES YOU WANT
• FIRST COLOR THE LEAF WITH YELLOW.THIS WILL BE YOUR BASE COLOR,AFTER IT DRIES APPLY A THICK COAT OF CRACKLE MEDIUM.
• AFTER 5 TO 10 MINS THAT IS WHEN THE CRACKLE MEDIUM IS HALF SET APPLY THE SECOND COLOR.THE SECOND COLOR SHOULD BE LITTLE WATERY.ADD COLOR AND WATER IN 3:1 RATIO
• ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTION OF THE SECOND COLOR ONLY YOU WILL GET THE CRACKS,SO APPLY IT ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTION OF THE LEAF
• CUT THIN WIRE TO THE REQUIRED SIZE AND STICK IT TO THE BACK SIDE OF THE LEAF WITH GLUE N GLOSS
• AFTER IT DRIES MIX GLUE N GLOSS AND WATER IN RATIO 4:1 AND APPLY IT EVENLY ON THE LEAF,SO THAT IT WILL BECOME SHINNY AND WASHABLE ALSO.
• THEN ATTACH THE LEAVES TO THE THICKER WIRE WITH BROWN TAPE.NOW YOUR LEAVES ARE READY TO DECORATE YOUR HOUSE.
  

HOW TO DO GEMSTONE PAINTING

GEMSTONE PAINTINGS HAVE ALWAYS FASCINATED ME.ITS RICH LOOK AND INTRICACY WILL GIVES YOU A IMPRESSION THAT ONLY ARTIST CAN DO THAT.BUT IT IS NOT AS COMPLICATED AS IT IS.IT IS VERY EASY TO DO,ONLY THING WAS PREVIOUSLY MATERIALS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.BUT NOW IT IS EASILY AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

• READY MADE PRINTED GLASS(PREFARABLY MUGHAL DESIGNS)MEDIUM SIZE
• GOLD DUST AND CLEAR VARNISH
• NO.000 BRUSH
• GEMSTONE POWDER
• FABRIC GLUE
• FABRIC PAINTS

METHOD:

• MIX GOLD DUST AND VARNISH AND GIVE IT FOR JEWELLERY,DRESS BORDERS,AND WHERE EVER NEEDED.
• AFTER IT DRIES PAINT HAIR,FEATURES OF THE LADY AND VERY SMALLER PARTS(IN SMALLER PARTS YOU CANNOT FILL GEMSTONE,IN MY PICTURE LEAVES ARE TOO SMALL,SO I PAINTED IT WITH FABRIC GREEN).
• ONCE IT DRIES,APPLY FABRIC GLUE IN A PART AND SPRINKLE THE GEMSTONE POWDER(DESIRED COLOUR) AND TAP THE EXCESS.
• LIKE THAT FILL ALL THE PARTS ONE BY ONE.
• FOR BACKGROUND CHOOSE FOUR TO FIVE COLOURS,AND GIVE IT ONE BY ONE FROM LIGTH TO DARK.

HOW TO DO CRACKLE PAINTING ON GLASS

USING CRACKLE MEDIUM ON GLASS IS SOME WHAT DIFFERENT FROM USING IT ON OTHER SURFACES.ON OTHER SURFACES YOU HAVE TO USE A BASE COLOUR ANT THEN MEDIUM AND AGAIN ONE MORE LAYER OF COLOUR.
IN GLASS FIRST APPLY THE MEDIUM AND WHILE ITS HALF SET APPLY THE FIRST LAYER OF COLOUR.LET THIS DRY COMPLETELY.NOW YOU WILL GET CRACKS AND SINCE THE MEDIUM IS TRANSPARENT GLASS WILL BE SEEN IN BETWEEN THE CRACKS.SO,WHERE EVER GAP IS THERE APPLY THE SECOND LAYER OF COLOUR.(NOTE THIS WORK SHOULD BE DONE ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THE GLASS)

CREATING AN AQUARIUM WITH GLASS PEBBLES

AQUARIUM WILL HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN EVERY BODY'S HOUSE.BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SPACE OR TIME TO HAVE A REAL ONE,WHY DON'T YOU CREATE A ARTIFICIAL AQUARIUM AND FULL FILL YOUR DREAMS..ITS SO SIMPLE..

SO HERE WE GO..

MATERIALS:

• WHITE TILE OR CERAMIC PLATE
• GLASS PEBBLES,STONES
• FEVICOL
• 3-D OUTLINERS
• GLASS COLOURS

• TAKE GLASS COLORS BLUE AND GREEN IN A PALETTE,DAB THE COLOURS ON THE TILE WITH SPONGE.
  

• STICK THE PEBBLES ON THE TILE WITH FEVICOL,WHERE EVER YOU WANT THE FISHES

• NOW STICK THE WHITE STONES IRREGULARLY ON THE TILE FOR THE BASE.YOU CAN STICK SOME BROKEN GLASS PIECES ALSO
  

• YOU CAN CREATE FISHES,TORTOISE,STAR FISH ETC,UP TO YOUR IMAGINATION.SELECT THE PEBBLES ACCORDING TO THE SHAPE.
  
• NOW DRAW THE FINS,WINGS,TAILS EVERYTHING WITH THE 3D OUT LINER.
• GIVE SOME PLANTS WITH GREEN COLOUR 3D OUT LINER.
• YOU CAN KEEP ON DEVELOPING THE DESIGN WITH YOUR IMAGINATION.

SO HERE IS THE FINAL PRODUCT YOU WILL GET...

HOW TO DO POT PAINTING:FLORAL DESIGN

HI ALL,
POT PAINTING IS ONE OF THE FAVOURITE FOR ALL OF US.BUT MOST OF THEM DO ONLY CLAY WORK ON POT,I HAVE HARDLY SEEN PAINTING ON POTS.

BUT TELL YOU WHAT,PAINTING ON POT WILL LOOK VERY VERY GOOD.TODAY I TRIED A FLORAL DESIGN,SO SHARING WITH YOU ALL.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO THIS POT PAINTING IS A POT OFCOURSE:),PRIMER,FABRIC PAINTS,BRUSHES,AND CLEAR VARNISH.

SAND PAPER THE POT WELL UNTILL IT BECOME SMOOTH.
APPLY A COAT OF PRIMER AND LET IT DRY.
DRAW THE FLOWER DESIGN ON POT.
PAINT THE FLOWERS WITH FABRIC PAINTS,DIFF COLOURS.
PAINT THE AREAS BTW THE FLOWERS WITH BLACK PAINT.
GIVE A THICK WHITE OUTLINE FOR FLOWERS.
AFTER IT DRIES FOR 2 HOURS,GIVE A COAT OF CLEAR VARNISH.
NOW YOUR BEAUTIFULL POT PAINTING IS READY.

HOW TO DO DUPLEX PAPER FLOWER:SPEAKER FLOWERS

HI ALL,
this time i came up with flower making tutorial.this speaker flower is some thing very very easy to do,even beginners can do without much effort.

MATERIALS:
DUPLEX PAPERS
POLAND'S
GREEN TAPE
NO:10 THREAD
BROOM STICKS

METHOD:

• FIRST CUT RECTANGLE PIECES OF PAPER IN DIFFERENT SIZES
• STRETCH THE EDGES OF THE FLOWER AND GIVE SHAPE TO THE FLOWER
  
• PUT GLUE AT ONE END AND STICK BOTH THE END OF THE PAPER TOGETHER
• TAKE FIVE POLAND'S AND ATTACH IT IN THE BROOM STICK WITH THE THREAD.
• NOW INSERT THE STICK THROUGH THE HOLE OF THE FLOWER AND TIE IT WITH THREAD(POLAND SHOULD COME OUTSIDE OF THE FLOWER).
• NOW COVER THE REST OF THE STICK WITH GREEN TAPE.

HOW TO DO DUPLEX PAPER FLOWER:SPEAKER FLOWERS

Materials:
satin ribbon two different colors
cardboard
fevicol

Procedure:

• Take a square shape cardboard.
• Measure the length of the cardboard and cut satin ribbons little extra than the size of the board
• Stick one end of the ribbon to the back side of the cardboard.Do like that for the other color ribbon also
• Then take any one color of ribbon and weave it with the other.while weaving your ribbon should go up and down(that is pink should come up once and yellow should come up the other time)
• like wise take each ribbon weave it and stick it at the end with fevicol
